One More Time: David Archuleta in Philippines!

Spot David Archuleta in the Philippines! Yes, he's back again!

Tuesday afternoon, Archuleta arrived in Manila to promote his sophie album, "The Other Side of Down."

Archuleta, runner-up to David Cook in the 7th season of  American Idol, arrived at around 3 p.m. in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2. He flew aboard Philippine Airlines flight 502 from Singapore, which was delayed by almost an hour.

Wearing jeans and a white shirt with a smiley design, he smilingly waved to a group of about 30 fans.  He also answered questions from a group of reporters, TV news crews and photographers.

Cebu Pacific Flight Attendants Dancing to Katy Perry and Lady Gaga Music

I saw this video awhile ago through a post in Facebook, mainly discussing the undeniably irresistible promotional video made by Cebu Pacific to entertain its customers in the cabin and, at the same time, to allow the customers to learn the emergency procedures to the music of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Currently, the video has gained 1.8 million viewers and apparently, it's receiving concise, significant recognition from various viewers across the globe.

Well, what's can we say? Filipinos are becoming more and more innovative today. :) Kudos Cebu Pacific!

Britney Spears/ Brittany Episode on Glee, September 28, 2010

The Britney Spears Episode is anticipated to air today.

Pop Star Spears herself will be doing a cameo role in the episode along with some of her chart-topping hits like “…Baby One More Time” and “Toxic,” and she says, “Working on Glee was an amazing experience.”

Check out this cool video of some of Glee's main cast talking about Britney and the new episode.

In the Britney/Brittany episode, Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) insists that the glee club perform adult contemporary music at the school assembly, but the kids have other plans.

As New Directions mounts its campaign to perform Britney Spears’ greatest hits, they learn that their own Brittany (Heather Morris pictured above with Ms. Spears) has a connection to the famous performer. Meanwhile, Will meets Emma’s (Jayma Mays) new love interest, Dr. Carl (John Stamos), who sparks a rivalry between the two men as they vie for her attention.

Glee airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Fox.

Actress Romina Yan Dies, 36

Actress Romina Yankelevich De Giaccomi, better known as Romina Yan, at the age of 36, (Bella y Bestia, Casi Angeles) has passed away due to a heart attack. She was at home when she began to feel ill. Her friend drove her to the emergency room, where they attempted to revive her for fifty minutes until she was declared dead.

An Argentine actress, it can be remembered that she debuted in television programme Jugate Conmigo, followed by internatonally successful series Chiquititas, created by her mother Cris Morena.

Her last main acts happened in year 2009 which include the series Casi Angeles, and the film Horizontal/Vertical.

My sincerest thoughts and prayers go to her family. For sure, she will be missed a lot.

Panahon Ko 'To! Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko!

I'm really so excited to watch ABS-CBN's new game show! You know, you would soonly realize that eight or so years ago, you were not the only kid who usually reserved your free time just to watch Anime series like Ghostfighter, Flame of Recca, Monster Rancher, Pokemon, Digimon, Blink, Remy, Power Rangers, Teacher Nube, Doraemon and many more. Remember the times when every kid in town was totally addicted to jolens/ holens, pogs, racecars, beyblades, rubber bands (lastiko), puzzles, and other items being sold in and out of the school premises? I recall how Flames started and what made Jologs a hit at that time (or probably who, at that time, was the most baduy celebrity of all, lol).

Panahon Ko 'To! Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko! is hosted by Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano

Now that ABS-CBN has come up with this new show, catering to the fun , memorable side of innocence, the company has once and for all proved to everyone how creative, workaholic and efficient its production teams are just to bring out the best programs to the Filipino public worldwide. I can't wait to watch the show's pilot episode! This will surely be a big hit!

Proudly Pinoy, I will definitely say that Panahon Ko 'To! Ang Game Show ng Buhay Ko! will achieve high ratings in its pilot episode. People have been talking about it nowadays.

The PBB Teen Clash of 2010 Big Winner is James Reid!

The Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010 Big Winner is James!

The official percentage count of votes are as follows:

  1. James Reid – Big Winner  (roughly 179, 272 votes or 19.75%)
  2. Ryan Bang – 2nd big placer with Php 500,000.  (about 169, 741 votes or 18.7%)
  3. Fretzie Bercede – 3rd Teen big placer with Php 300,000 (145, 176 votes or 15.99%)
  4. Devon Seron – 4th Teen big placer with Php 200,000 (142, 876 votes or 15.74%)
  5. Ivan Dorschner – 5th big placer with Php 100,000 (137, 402 votes or 15 14%)
  6. Bret Jackson – 6th big placer with Php 100,000. (133, 239 votes or 14.68%)
The PBB Teen Clash Big Winner will be handed the grand prize of 46″ Sony LCD, Asian Tour, Crystal Clear franchise, Condo unit, Php1M.

The total tally of votes in this season's Big Night seems to be a bit frustrating as only approximately, by extrapolation, 907,706 votes have been cast to end up the Big Unite. The public's support seems to be  less indulgent. Probably, the appeal of the whole reality TV show has drastically cooled down in terms of mass viewing.

For the meantime, let us altogether take a closer look at James Reid's folio for the last time. Maybe this time we'll realize how he got to earn the highest place in the reality show. I created a very short comment below. Do read it if you're interested. Thanks!

Nickname: James
Status: In House
Real Name: Robert James Reid
Origin: Australia
Age: No Answer
Birthdate: May 11
Nationality: Half-Australian, Half-Filipino
Occupation: No Answer
Civil Status: Single
Religion: No Answer
Hobbies: Swimming, Music, Going to the beach
Favorite Color: No Answer
Favorite Food: Sinigang
Favorite Show: No Answer
Favorite Actor: No Answer
Favorite Actress: No Answer
Favorite Singer: No Answer

Character Profile:

Kapag kinakailangan n’yang magsalita in public, nagkakaroon s’ya ng mental block at di makapagsalita.

Maraming Pinoy friends si James, pero sapat na kaya ang pagiging pala-kaibigan ng binata para makapag-adjust siya sa loob ng bahay ni Kuya, o tulad ng kanyang pag-aaral ay kinakailangan niya ng special attention?

Reaction:
Alas, the public has spoken. They have chosen James as the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010 Big Winner. I think that he will be added to the long roster of talents  being honed  and tended by Star Magic, considering the fact that everyone agrees he possesses the looks, talents and charisma. I wonder how he would be able to get along with all the other celebrities, mentioning the idea that if he will be accepting an offer from the famed talent agency, he would have to mingle with people outside the Big Brother House, and with the enormous, tricky world of hypocrisy, luxury and envy. Will fans all over the country embrace him more? Will he accept the challenge of becoming ABS-CBN's new talent, if this happens? Or will James Reid just lie low and steer away from the noise of show business?

My Top 10 TV Shows: May 26 - April 2, 2010

Enough with the surveys. It's now time that I feature myself, I mean, my top favorite local shows for last week's local airtime. Among the three biggest tv networks, I decided to pick the best shows which contained enough quality and KSP material to grab my attention and to brighten up my days as well.

I  judge the shows subjectively. I'm not a Kapamilya, Kapuso or Kashake(?). Usually, my mind craves for these shows whenever I feel like I have nothing to do for that period. Rankings change every week so keep updated.

My Criteria:
30% - Personal Impact
10% - Viewership from TV Ratings
30% - Daily Content
30% - Filipino Values Exposed

Rank 10: Face to Face (TV-5)
Rank 9: Banana Split Daily Servings (ABS-CBN)
Rank 8: The Last Prince (GMA-7)
Rank 7: Agua Bendita (ABS-CBN)
Rank 6: 24 Oras (GMA-7) / Rubi (ABS-CBN)
Rank 5: Talentadong Pinoy (TV-5)
Rank 4: PBB Teen Clash of 2010 (ABS-CBN)
Rank 3: TV Patrol World (ABS-CBN)
Rank 2: Pilipinas Got Talent (ABS-CBN)
Rank 1: Showtime (ABS-CBN)

Well, let's just dwell on the prevailing thought that Showtime is the most entertaining and value-rich show for this week. Haha, it really evokes Filipino pride. I feel incomplete whenever I miss it. Lol.

Top 10 Reason Why Jejemons Exist

There could be an infinite number of reasons why a lot of normal people want to apply as Jejebusters, and their main issue is on how they can  control the contagious spread of the Jeje-fever. The summer season, together with the Jejemon invasion, or maybe vice versa (?) has been continuously bothering Filipinos' minds causing an outrage attack on the Jejemon species.

Listed below are TEN main reasons why the Jeje-industry remained intact:

1. Pika-pi, Pikachuu! - Gs2 q p0wH~ sIlA mSHocK SA aKin Kpg mY Bg0 aqng w0rd~ NA~ NaiimBEN2 P0WH.~ JEjE
Translation: Gusto ko po silang mashock sa akin kapag may bago akong word na naiimbento. Hehe.

Translation: Gusto po naming lumabas sa aming outer shell. We want to reveal to the world who we want to be. And because of this, all the other Jejemons came out too. Isn't it great?

3. Clefairy! Clefairy! - WiSh q P0wH KZ NA CUTe UnG pGk2sB~ q KHIT D Aq cuTe~ SA 22ONg bUHaY huHU ~ ~

6. Toge-pi, Toge - KHIT~ mLIIT My mAibuBUGa diN Po P0Wh. d niYO LnG ALam, mTATALin0h~ DIN kmi P0WH.
Translation: Kahit maliit may maibubuga din po. Hindi niyo lang alam, matatalino din kami.

7. Gloom, gloom! - gs2 p0wh~ NMINg Mg-exPlaIN loLZ!~ pKingGn Niyo KMI lolz!
Translation: Gusto po naming mag-explain! Pakinggan niyo kami!

8. Psy-duckkk! - SUMskiT P0Wh ULO nMiN dAhiL Sa siNsB nIYo~ P0wh.~ D P0WH~ KMI RetArD~ l0LZ!
Translation: Sumasakit po ulo namin dahil sa sinasabi niyo. Di po kami retard!

9. Jiiinnxxxx - My BUHaY Din KMinG~ mgA JEJEM0nS P0WH. HAYaaN nyo~ NA kMInG Mbuhay~ p0wH. HUhu
Translation: May buhay din kaming mga Jejemons.  Hayaan nyo na kaming mabuhay. Huhu

10. Hitmon-cha - BT p0WH~ Ba kMI INaawy nIy0, aWYIn nIy0 nA Lng~ mgA c0rrUPT
Translation: Bat po ba kami inaaway niyo, awayin niyo na lang mga corrupt

I really had a hard time trying to convert their sayings into the Jejemon style, but good thing I found the Jologs-inator. To thos who missed and wanted to hear Pokemons (not Jejemons), just click Pokemon Sound Bites. I firmly believe that our state-of-the-art equipments cannot stop Jejemons from populating, and I can say that living in harmony with them means having the worst days of your life. But, it's funny how we try to look down on OUR silly countrymen and bury them deep to nonexistence.

Somehoew, these Jejemons have served as living examples of how texting and other forms of communication  manage to  destroy languages and yield new, awful sets of synanym or should I say spelling fail. Ajejeje!

David Archuleta Spotted at Gay Club

Last April 17, a Saturday, David Archuleta was spotted at Club 57, a popular gay club in New York City, USA. So, what was he actually doing there? Did he have something to reveal?

Well, the answer to the second question is yes. Archuleta tweeted that he was there in full support of Filipino singing sensation Charice Pempengco. At the club, the 17-year old international songster performed her current hit single, “Pyramid”, and diva-struck “I Will Survive”. Charice’s mom, Raquel, confirmed that Archuleta did not sing.

Since his visit to that club, gay rumors have pursued the American Idol 2nd runner up. Archuleta explained his side by saying that he received an invitation the night before the show to go and see Charice’s performance. It can be recalled that Charice met Archuleta when she attended the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (New York) last November 2008. He continued by coming up with a new revelation, that he should “always ask where before you go! Wasn’t my kind of place lol, and I had no clue! I guess you live and learn.”

However, the positive thing he got was that he’s able to watch Charice rock the floor. He continued,”…and she has an incredible voice. Hope that clears things up! Been seeing some of the tweets.. sheesh! Can get crazy quick. NO worries all, I wouldn’t get into things like that intentionally haha. Hope you guys have a good Sunday!"

Charice later apologized to him after the rumors gunned back again. Archuleta accepted her sincerest apology. "Charice is great and she didn't mean to cause any harm haha. She apologized a lot after. She's way nice lol," he further exposed.

After reading this article, can you say that his reasons really buy? Let me hear your side, post your comments.

PBB Teen Clash of 2010 1st Evictee: POTZ Out! (Fresh News)

Romeo "Potz" Jalosjos III gets evicted in the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010's 1st Eviction Night. Currently, he leads the roster of official evictees in PBB Teen Clash of 2010.

Toni Gonzaga mentions the name of the first safe nominee, Patrick, who came from Team Apartment.

"Magpapatulooy tayo, sino pa kaya ang housemate na maliligtas sa gabing ito". She then continues, saying "...at siya naman ay nagmumula sa Villa". "Ligtas ka rin sa gabing ito, Eslove", Toni gives out the name of the second safe teen housemate.

Tricia, Angelo and Potz remain in the waiting list. Whose supporters prevailed?

Righta after the break, Toni reveals the name of the third nominee to be saved, Tricia. Eventually, "Magpasalamat ka sa taong bayan ngayon dahil binigyan ka ng pagkakataong manatili sa bahay ni Kuya, because you are safe tonight. That's right, Angelo."

The 1st official evictee is Potz. It can be remembered that Maichel was automatically put up for eviction due to violations he committed such as introducing himself when he was supposed to do a task and also, the improper use of the lapel microphone and shower times.

Here is the official percentage listing of votes:
5.52% - Potz
15.16% - Angelo
16.63% - Patrick
21.20% - Eslove
                                                                      41.48% - Tricia

The battle for popularity and wealth begins, as supporters pump in more votes upon approach to Cutoff Time hoping that they could still save their bets and change the course of eviction. Will the public continuously support Tricia? Who among the teen housemates will fill the list of nominees in tomorrow's 2nd PBB Teen Clash of 2010 Nomination Night? Watch out for updates.

AGB Nielsen TV Ratings - Metro Manila (March 9-11, 2010)

Tuesday (March 9):
ABS-CBN's Showtime and Wowowee still reign in the Daytime Competition, defeating Kapuso Network's Diz Iz It (with a whopping 12.3% gap) and Eat Bulaga! (2.5% far catching).  Meanwhile, all teleseryes released by the Kapamilya Network continue to dominate the evening scenario, as big plunges in viewer gains prohibits Kapuso's influence.

Wednesday (March 10):
GMA-7's daytime shows control the period as Eat Bulaga! shakes Wowowee down to a record low viewership. Also, Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita? fared better with its total views equalizing with the total view count received by Kapamilya's Banana Split Daily Servings and Maria de Jesus: Anghel Sa Lansangan. Also, a complete reversal of viewer interest occurs as all of Kapuso's shows best Kapamilya's shows to a super close fight. Wait, what happens next!

Thursday (March 11):
Only Pilipinas Got Talent and Showtime entered a win while all the other rival shows instill their powerful dominance in Mega Manila. Moreover, Agua Bendita led the race after Tanging Yaman, in ABS-CBN's shows, garnering an increase of 12.8% more viewers. GMA-7's Queen Seon Deok seems to impress critics as it garners a high value of percentage viewership, leaving SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon flea-full.

AGB Nielsen TV Ratings - Metro Manila (March 8, 2010)

Kapuso network starts with a bang as it derails Kapamily's Wowowee from leading the list. Seven Kapuso shows entered the list, while four Kapamilya shows registered, one of which is the live telecast of the 82nd Oscar Awards. Kapuso network's Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita defeats competitive Magkano ang Iyong Dangal with 2.1% edge. Even without the presence of Kapamilya's Showtime, Kapuso's Diz Iz It ! still hang on the edge of a cliff waiting for the right downturn.

The primetime outcome slaps with GMA's lead as Panday Kids and the Last Prince own the two highest spots, defeating Kapamilya's Agua Bendita, Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo and Habang May Buhay. Kapuso network still maintains its credibility in the field of news and broadcasting as its 24 Oras escorts a 5.0% lead against Kapamilya's TV Patrol World. On the same night, 9.2% more viewers have preferred watching Queen Seon Deok than SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon.

The jumble of places imply the strangest yet coolest competition of the two biggest networks in the Philippines. This also means viewers have already come up with their own taste of entertainment.

AGB Nielsen TV Ratings - Mega Manila (March 8, 2010)

Sunday's daytime competition is as boring as ever, with Kapuso Movie Festival: Sundo catching first in place, followed by Diva ang Unang Birit which defied ABS-CBN's goal to inform the people of the upcoming election, putting Kapamilya's Eleksyon 2010 on the third spot.

The primetime slot draws up some heat, as GMA's 24 Oras Weekend clings in the top 5 ruled by 4 big Kapamilya shows Although defeated by 0.8%, Kapamilya's TV Patrol World leads the bottom 5 dominated by 4 big Kapuso shows. Kapamilya's Pilipinas Got Talent describes what a good monopoly is as it leads a 10% gap from struggling Kapuso's Bandaoke! Rock ‘N Roll To Millions. Kapuso networks intent to win the late night viewership is highly commendable.

It is imminent that collisions between tv shows are not as a boom as before, probably effected by the difference in audience each network targets per show.

Here is the list of top 10 programs/ shows that bested all the others in the two time periods.

AGB Nielsen TV Ratings - Metro Manila (March 6, 2010)

The competition between rival networks heats up as Wowowee and Eat Bulaga!  starts a spark gap of 0.6%. However, the dynamic equilibrium in the daytime period becomes disturbed when TV-5's kiddie Spongebob Squarepants entered.
TV-5 also scrambled the whole listing in the primetime slot when its show, Talentadong Pinoy, gave off a record 30.5%, startling the other two networks. What will be the role of TV-5 in the fluctuating head-on collisions of various big shows? Will its aggression cause another network's retreat? How will the viewers react to this? Meanwhile, AGB Nielsen TV suggests a rising popularity and competition from a third force, TV-5, which earned competitively high percentage viewers snatching views from the other two networks, ABS-CBN and GMA. It is evident that TV-5's Talentandong Pinoy hit Kapamliya's Pilipinas Got Talent with a 4.8% lead. GMA's Startalk steals the spotlight defeating ABS-CBN's Entertainment Live, and continues to be the most competitive Saturday showbiz talk show in history. Kapuso Network's shows, however, dominate the morning competition with consistent high viewership bashed by TV-5's Spongebob Squarepants and Kapamilya's Showtime. ABS-CBN's Melason in Love brings down GMA's Binibining Pilipinas 2010, hoping that the Melason fever is still on.

AGB Nielsen TV Ratings - Metro Manila (March 5, 2010)

Last Friday's (March 5, 2010) AGB Nielsen TV Ratings Survey revealed the Kapamilya Network's Showtime and Wowowee owning the highest views. Kapuso Network's Eat Bulaga! still struggle in its battle for grasping the first place. Six Kapamilya tv shows dominate the top 10 list during the Daytime competition. However, Kapuso tv shows entrance a fair share in Mega Manila. Evidence of dying competition strikes between  tv shows Diz Iz It! and Showtime, between Diva and Rubi ,and  between Queen Seon Deok and SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon, as a great gap dissolves one for the other. Please see comparative ratings at the bottom end of this report.

Both networks continue to impress the households with an equal number of shows entered in the Primetime slot. Still, ABS-CBN rules the floor with Agua Bendita and Kung Tayo't Magkakalayo besting the others. GMA's 24 Oras proves to be more reliable with a 2.4% lead against rival network's TV Patrol World.

AGB Nielsen TV Ratings - Metro Manila (March 4, 2010)

As supported by the latest AGB Nielsen TV Ratings Survey (Mega Manila viewing only), Agua Bendita remains undefeated as top gainer in the primetime slot last Thursday, March 4, 2010. ABS-CBN's Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo outruns GMA's Panday Kids with 1.1% more viewers.

For daytime competition, Wowowee still dominates the highest gains with Showtime, also from the Kapamilya network, landing on 2nd place. GMA's noontime show Eat Bulaga lies low on third place.

It can be understood that GMA's reach in the Mega Manila viewership is starting to weaken, as a newly established, aggressive network, TV-5, enters the race. It is predicted that this force will bring a more healthy rivalry and unseen twists in the Philippine media industry.

Seen below is the comparative AGB Nielsen Ratings this March 4, 2010. Shows in bold letters represent higher % viewership.
